National Cadet Corps (NCC)
Introduction
The National Cadet Corps(NCC) is a youth development movement. It has enormous potential for
nation building. The NCC Provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development
with
a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral values so that they become able leaders and
useful
citizens. The NCC provides exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities., with distinct emphasis on
Social services, Discipline and Adventure Training. The NCC is open to all regular students of school and
colleges on a voluntary basis. The students have no liability for active military service.
Objectives of NCC
- Character Building: The NCC aims to instill qualities of discipline,
responsibility, and integrity among its cadets, fostering well-rounded individuals with strong moral
character.
- Leadership Development: Through structured training programs and
practical
experiences, the NCC empowers cadets to emerge as confident and effective leaders capable of making
positive
contributions to society.
- National Service: Committed to serving the nation, the NCC encourages
cadets
to actively participate in community service initiatives, promoting a spirit of selflessness and civic
responsibility.
- Patriotism and Unity: By upholding the ideals of national unity and
integrity, the NCC cultivates a sense of pride and loyalty towards India, fostering a cohesive society
built
on mutual respect and understanding.
- Military Preparedness: While not mandatory for military service, the NCC
equips cadets with basic military training, ensuring they possess the skills and knowledge to contribute
effectively to national defense if called upon in the future.
